We are delighted to announce that, to celebrate London Design Festival, we will be collaborating with seven of our fantastic brands to give away one of these incredible items, completely free, with your order through eporta.
We’ll be featuring exclusive interviews giving you insight into the designing and making process behind these brands over the coming weeks; for now, here’s a glimpse of what we’re offering.
Sustainable lighting solutions by artisanal minimalists, BIGDESIGN
Founded in only 2013, this young Italian company has grown rapidly in its creation of design-led lighting solutions that don’t cost the earth. Well- priced and environmentally friendly, we love these bright cable lamps that cheer up any room. With the length of the cord coiled inside the glass, the cable can be adjusted to whatever length you need.
Soft cotton blankets with graphic designs by Norwegian brand FUNKYDORIS
Founders Tove Trydal and Grethe Bjørk had both had long careers in the design world before launching FunkyDoris. Pairing Scandinavian minimalism with bright colours and retro vibes, FunkyDoris creates warm, friendly, and design- led homewares that make a house feel like home. These graphic cotton blankets are the perfect item for a cold winter’s day when you need not only warming up, but cheering up as well.
Bold and abstract velvet cushions by fine-art inspired BOEME DESIGN
Jo Bound’s stunning cushions begin life as paintings exploring the natural world through rich, deep colour and experimental technique. These unusual beginnings are paired with a wealth of experience in the tradition of British textile manufacturing to create these truly unusual soft furnishings. The “tide dusk” cushion could not be better fitted to its name, truly evoking the wildness of the British seaside at the ebb of both sun and sea.
Venetian blown- glass table lamps by CANGINI E TUCCI
Cangini e Tucci have been producing their handmade, blown-glass lighting for over fifty years. Thanks to the idiosyncrasy of their traditional processes, every item is subtly different, making every purchase a truly heirloom piece. These table lamps are lit up from within, casting a glow that brings a sophisticated warmth to any room.
Diamond-cut carafe and glasses by design collective PUIK ART
Lara van der Lugt is the 24-year-old designer of this stunning glassware. A member of Dutch design collective Puik Art, she has created this carafe and glasses that utilise the potential of water’s liquid transparency to evoke the sparkling radiance of a diamond, reminding us of the preciousness of a resource that we all too often take for granted.
Table lamps hand-made in Portugal by AVIVO LIGHTING
With a showroom in London’s Chelsea Harbour, Avivo Lighting make stunning lighting that attempts to maximise the potential of new LED technology wherever possible. With a sophisticated palette of clear glass, champagne, and smoky greys, their lighting is elegant and subtle. This chrome lamp, with its unique “beach sand” finish, is designed and handmade in Portugal.
Hand-painted vases by East London ceramicist MELINA XENAKI
Melina Xenaki trained at the prestigious Royal College of Art, where she was struck by the motifs and patterns repeated in pottery from Ancient Greece to Aboriginal Australia. The simplicity of these designs informs her pared- back work, which also plays with the contingency of the firing process to achieve truly unique effects. These vases in black or blue are entirely handmade and handpainted by the artist in her East London studio.
