In part five of our Interior Insights, Dan Hopwood, Founder – Studio Hopwood and President – BIID, talks about the interior designer as a doctor, respecting your own profession and how to get the trade supplier/buyer relationship right.
Following a degree in Architecture and several years experience with different styles of practice, including the award-winning Hampshire County Architects, Daniel Hopwood founded the multi-disciplinary practice, Studio Hopwood in 1993.
The studio is known for being a small, bespoke practice offering a practical, but personal, design service throughout a mixture of high end residential and commercial projects.
The British Institute of Interior Design acknowledged his continued experience and expertise by electing Dan as the current President. Dan is also a guest tutor at the KLC School of Design and writes about design for magazines, as well as having presented a series of “Britain’s Best Homes” for Channel 4. He is currently working alongside Sophie Robinson and Tom Dyckhoff in the ‘The Great Interior Design Challenge’.
