mg12 are our Supplier Of The Week, 4 – 10 April 2016.
The Milan-based Italian brand, create designs for architects and lovers of design, with a ‘made in Italy’ tag. Their products, from towel warmers to dining tables, are “characterised by creativity and the spirit of innovation” and mg12 focus on using natural and sustainable materials.
mg12 focuses on being eco friendly, can you tell us more about how you achieve this?
We always use sustainable materials such as aluminium, wood, chalk, brass and marble. We often match them with natural elements, such as in the Ester side table, which uses a clay layer for the top. For this project, our production process considers a manual spreading with three earth layers and a natural drying phase after each application, therefore taking into account the production as well as the material.
Based in Milan yourselves, what are you most excited for at Milan Design Week this year
Salone del Mobile is a must, simply because is the main event. But you shouldn’t miss Fuori Salone all around the city with design areas, such as Interni and 5 vie, where new and historic Italian brands exhibit.
For us, the most exciting thing is that Milan Design Week is constantly attracting new visitors, as well as regular faces. 2015 was a great year and we hope 2016 will be better still.
What can we expect to see in 2016 from mg12?
mg12 is always looking forward to new challenges and to test new innovative experiences. For 2016 we worked on designs such as the Gregorio dining or meeting table, both tailor-made and customisable. New creations are in progress… so stay tuned!
Finally, why does design matter to you?
Design makes the world a better place; it provides a stimulation for our minds in a more and more superficial society. We want to remind people about the beauty in which everyone of us can live.
